Latern Festival Night - Fuzi Mayo
This was a great night although at the end it was scarey, with the human surge of people. If you had fallen over you would have been trampled to death. There were over 500,000 people in a small area about the size of two rugby fields. |

Yangzte River
Taken from the middle span of the nanjing No1 Yangzte River Bridge. As you can see both the air and water are not clean. It took us an hour to walk to the middle span. |

Fuzi Mayo Market Area
A great old part of the city. It is rabbit warrened with little alleys lined with shops, selling everything from rocks, cystal minerals, silk, paper cut-outs and every type of souvenir you could think of. |

Main Pagoda - Lion Mountain
This Pagoda looks over the Yangzte River. The original building was built about 600 years ago, but there is nothing of it left. This was rebuilt in the 70's I think and below this is where the treaty was signed for Hong Kong between China and England. |

Nanjing Shanty Town
What a way to live!!!! These are no longer there now, but in its place is a lovely river walkway with trees & gardens. Not sure where all the people were shipped to, but as they were illegal I don't think anyone cared. |
